Our sourcing standards.
Our good food doesn't happen by accident. We seek out Australian farmers and producers who raise the bar on welfare, responsible production, and ingredient quality - because we believe a fairer food system is possible, and this is how we build it.

The standards behind every pick.
Shorter supply chains, fresher food.
We seek out direct relationships with Australian growers and producers, cutting out the middlemen wherever we can. Shorter supply chains mean food travels less, arrives fresher, and farmers get paid more fairly for what they grow.
Responsible production, always.
We look for farmers and producers committed to high animal welfare and environmental standards, from how they raise their animals to how they manage their soil.
Better ingredients, better taste.
We seek out pantry products with clean, quality ingredients - and we work to leave out what shouldn’t be there. No unnecessary additives, no artificial preservatives. Just real food that tastes the way it’s supposed to.
Fairer economics for everyone.
We prioritise supply chains where farmers are paid properly for what they grow - and we work to pass those savings on. Farmers paid fairly. Consumers who can access quality groceries more affordably. That’s the food system we’re building.
Fruit & Veg
Fresh, seasonal, and rescued from waste
We prioritise direct relationships with Australian growers and source what’s in season - not what looks uniform on a shelf. Eating with the seasons also means eating food at its best - picked at the right time, from the right growing region, tasting the way it’s supposed to. A lot of what we rescue has been rejected for cosmetic reasons: the wrong shape, the wrong size, a surface mark. It tastes exactly the same. We don’t import to fill gaps when Australian seasons are quiet. Instead, we follow the seasons, and your box reflects what’s actually growing.
What we look for:
✔︎ Sourced from local Australian farms
✔︎ Seasonal variety that follows what’s actually growing
✔︎ Produce that’s cosmetically imperfect but perfectly good to eat
What we leave out:
✘ Imported produce to fill seasonal gaps
✘ Cosmetic grading standards that leave good food behind

Meat
Raised right, processed by Farmstead Meats

We seek out farmers who raise their animals the way animals should be raised - with space to roam, a natural diet, and genuine care. Our beef is grass-fed and finished, meaning cattle graze on pasture their whole lives rather than being finished on grain. Our beef is aged for up to 14 days for better flavour and tenderness. We prioritise free-range and pasture-raised, and we’re always working to raise the bar across our farmer partnerships.
What we look for:
✔︎ 100% Australian, pasture-raised where possible
✔︎ Grass-fed and finished beef
✔︎ Free range across chicken, pork and lamb
✔︎ Hormone-free and raised without routine antibiotics
✔︎ Vacuum sealed for freshness
What we leave out:
✘ Growth hormones and unnecessary additives
✘ Grain feedlot practices
✘ Bovaer and other synthetic supplements
Seafood
Responsible sourcing, from sea to box
Whatever the scale of our seafood suppliers, our standards are strictly the same across all of them: responsible practices, transparency, and a genuine commitment to doing better by marine environments. Where we can, we prioritise line-caught seafood for its lower bycatch impact. For farmed species, we look for farms that meet strong animal welfare and environmental benchmarks. Our seafood standards continue to evolve as we build deeper relationships with our partners and learn more about what good looks like across the industry.
What we look for:
✔︎ Fishery and farm partners with transparent, responsible practices
✔︎ Wild-caught options that are not practising overfishing
✔︎ Partners committed to reducing bycatch and protecting marine environments
What we leave out:
✘ Seafood treated with unnecessary artificial additives, antibiotics or water-retention agents
✘ Partners who can't demonstrate accountability in their sourcing or farming practices
✘ Farmed species with poor welfare or unsustainable practices

Dairy
Australian farms, genuine animal care

We seek out Australian dairy producers who treat animal welfare and transparency as baseline, not a bonus. That means farms with genuine care standards, quality-audited production, and a commitment to sustainable practices — whether that’s a single-origin cow’s milk or an artisan goat’s cheese. The producer changes; the standard doesn’t.
What we look for:
✔︎ Australian-owned farms with high animal welfare standards
✔︎ Production facilities audited to recognised quality standards
✔︎ Sustainable farming practices
What we leave out:
✘ Farms without documented animal welfare standards
✘ Routine antibiotic use
✘ Products with artificial additives or preservatives
Pantry
Vetted brands, clean ingredients
Every product in our pantry range is reviewed before it’s ranged. We check the ingredients, the producer, and the story behind it. The baseline is the same across every category: if it doesn’t clear the bar, it doesn’t make the list. We seek out brands that are doing things differently - whether that’s ethical ingredient sourcing, regenerative farming, or using our own rescued produce to make their products.
What we look for:
✔︎ Brands with clear ingredient transparency
✔︎ Products free from artificial colours, flavours, and unnecessary preservatives
✔︎ Producers with a genuine story behind what they make
✔︎ Mission-aligned brands who care about how their products are sourced
What we leave out:
✘ Artificial colours and flavours
✘ Preservatives that don’t need to be there
✘ Brands we can’t vet and verify ourselves

Meet the Farmers
We've always believed that knowing who grows your food matters. It started with a handshake on a cauliflower farm in 2020 and hasn't stopped since. Meet the growers and producers behind your box.
Every box is a choice for a fairer food system.
